Jim's Pickguard
  • Saw on Jim's latest YouTube video that he restored the original pickguard on his '59 after having replaced it for a while with a new one due to the battered and deteriorated condition of the original. Seeing that it looks like most of the areas of the pickguard where the screws are seem to be broken, I was wondering how he kept it on. Double sided tape?
20 days 'till Jim hits Ohio!!!!!!!!
  • The double-sided tape was way too sticky. Overkill. The pickguard became even more cracked trying to pry it off. I removed the tape and applied a few dots of mounting putty. It works perfectly and I can remove the pickguard easily. See you in Ohio!
